The Eileen Gray Tube Light is one of the most popular lamps until today. Her minimalist standing lamp from the 1930's had a column of tubular steel alongside a long tube light. The strict and simple line, the tubular structure in chrome steel and the search for absolutely clean form (as in the Adjustable Table and Daybed, but also in Bibendum) is once again evident of Gray's stylistic migration in those years from Art Déco toward "functionalist" design with materials and technological solutions adapted from industry and aeronautics.This tendency was surely related to her deep friendship with Le Corbusier and her association with with the other artists and designers, with whom she created the Union des Artistes Modernes.
